Ep. 18 – Trauma Persevering

Show Notes

With Independence Day around the corner, Nick & Cait decided to it was a good time to talk about ghosts of the Revolutionary War. First, Cait tells of the frozen hell the patriots stationed at Jockey Hollow had to endure (in some cases, for eternity). Then Nick shares stories of Fort Ticonderoga, its spectres, and the most unlikely partnership in the revolutionary army. Cait finishes us up with special drink, a favorite of renowned patriot Ethan Allen, The Stone Fence.

Episode 17 – Bugle Boy Genes

Show Notes

Finally, our poor noise-to-signal ratio finally works in our favor! We’re talking about (and making) noise, and we start with a look at a bowling ghost that was exposed by the quiet of the pandemic. Next, an Indianapolis poltergeist that disturbed the whole neighborhood, and we finish with a phantom bugle whose tone reverberates throughout history. And all this shifting of the volume has inspired a drink that keeps cranking the favor up and down on you to stay electric with every sip!

Episode 16 – Decap Attack!

Show Notes

In this episode we spend a lot of time discussing hobos, ice cream, and decapitations, which is really unfortunate, because the episode’s topic was supposed to be haunted roadside attractions. On a road trip absolutely plump full of detours, side-stops, and the occasional breakdown, Nick shares ghostly tales about America’s first National Park, Yellowstone. Then Cait takes us on a tour of accidents, apparitions, and ashes at the happiest place on Earth, Disneyland! All this, plus a boozy frozen treat specially designed to beat the summertime heat!

Episode 15 – Death Below the 49th Parallel

Show Notes

The borders may still be closed, but Nick and Cait are taking a trip to Canada anyway. Victoria, BC is one of their favorite places, and with Victoria Day is just around the corner, it only seems right to tell stories of ghosts and murder in The Garden City. First, Cait tells us about some of the many permanent residents of the Empress Hotel, then Nick tells the story of ethereal axe-murder Kanaka Pete. Then Cait ties all the pieces together with a Canadian whiskey tiki drink that celebrates Victoria’s relationship with multiculturalism. How ya doin’, eh?

In this episode, Nick and Cait discuss two of the biggest and most controversial figures in the world of the paranormal–ghost hunters, demonologists, and psychics Ed and Lorraine Warren. We look at how the Warrens got their start, and at the cases that influenced the core movies of the Warren-verse, The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2.
